Art Collection
of Park Avenue Medical Center

The Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull represents the first facility to offer a comprehensive array of services from Yale New Haven Health, including the surgical expertise of Bridgeport Hospital, the groundbreaking treatments of Smilow Cancer Hospital, and more. The facility is designed to deliver healing, comfort and convenience for patients and their families, and to support the staff who provide advanced medical care with compassion and expertise.

The Inspiration – Norma Pfriem Healing Garden

The Norma Pfriem Healing Garden is Park Avenue Medical Center’s (PAMC) premier art installation. The garden contains a rich palette of plantings of New England shrubbery and seasonal flowers, with soothing sounds of cascading waters over stone and a silent pool that provides respite within a recessed terrace. The new building as well as an existing medical office building are organized around, and anchored by the Norma Pfriem Healing Garden.

The Mission

Using the healing garden as the artistic centerpiece, the mission of the PAMC Art Collection is to transcend the positive emotions of healing and tranquility conveyed by the Norma Pfriem Healing Garden to evoke feelings of peace and renewal throughout the entire facility.

Summary
