Each February, to celebrate Black History Month, GE Asset Management partners with Picture That Art Consultants and Stamford’s Palace Theatre to display a collection of student artwork in the venue’s Sackler Gallery. Stamford, Connecticut schools, grades K through 12, are encouraged to submit their art students’ work within a subject theme for the purpose of honoring the historical and contemporary individuals, movements, and ideas that support and represent the African diaspora as a whole.

In addition to celebrating black culture, the annual exhibition, in most cases, serves as the first public display for the students’ artwork, giving the students, their parents, and their teachers a memorable experience to cherish for years to come. The opening reception is traditionally held on Superbowl Sunday in the Palace Theatre’s Sackler Gallery where the community at large is invited to support and celebrate the students and the start of Black History Month.
